GENERAL MAP OF THE ANNULAR SOLAR ECLIPSEOF SEPTEMBER 1st, 2016
This solar eclipse is the "TWELFTH ANNULAR SOLAR ECLIPSE OF THE 21ST CENTURY" and the second SOLAR ECLIPSE of 2016.
It will be visible only from the continent of AFRICA, the INDIAN OCEAN and the western end of AUSTRALIA.
From its central band (Shown in red on our map) it will be visible as an ANNULAR SOLAR ECLIPSE from GABON, REPUBLIC OF CONGO, DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO, TANZANIA, MOZAMBIQUE, MADAGASCAR and RÉUNION.
This SOLAR ECLIPSE will be visible as a PARTIAL SOLAR ECLIPSE from all the countries of the continent of AFRICA and the INDIAN OCEAN.
This SOLAR ECLIPSE will lastover THREE HOURS in some places.

The particularity of this ANNULAR SOLAR ECLIPSE is that its maximum central band will be almost 100 Km wide depending on the country of viewing.
With a maximum duration of the "annular phase" of 3 Minutes and 5.6 seconds, in northern MOZAMBIQUE it will be one of the longest ANNULAR SOLAR ECLIPSES of the 21st century.
The particularity of this ANNULAR SOLAR ECLIPSE is that to observe it, it will be ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL to wear "SPECIAL GLASSES" to protect your "EYES".
Because of the rarity of the sight of an Annular Solar Eclipse, such eclipses are very exciting to observe. But that makes it all the more important to protect the EYES, because there is no safe phase during an Annular Solar Eclipse. (See chapter PROTECT YOUR EYES)
