TOTAL SOLAR ECLIPSE OF NOVEMBER 3rd, 2013

GENERAL MAP OF THE HYBRID SOLAR ECLIPSE
OF NOVEMBER 3rd, 2013

** ANNULAR ECLIPSE AND AFTER TOTAL ECLIPSE **

This solar eclipse is the NINTH TOTAL SOLAR ECLIPSE of the 21st century and the second SOLAR ECLIPSE of 2013.

This SOLAR ECLIPSE is classed as a "HYBRID ECLIPSE" because at the beginning of the SOLAR ECLIPSE on the West Coast of the UNITED STATES its central band is visible in the form of an ANNULAR SOLAR ECLIPSE, then after following a trajectory of around 100 kilometres its central band is visible in the form of a TOTAL SOLAR ECLIPSE.
This is relatively rare, since the next HYBRID SOLAR ECLIPSEwill take place on 14 November 2031.

This HYBRID SOLAR ECLIPSEof 3 November 2013 will be visible on three continents:
- South-eastern NORTH AMERICA and Northern SOUTH AMERICA, all acros AFRICA, Southern EUROPE and the MIDDLE EAST.

Its central band will be visible as a TOTAL SOLAR ECLIPSE in the CARIBBEAN, the GABON, the CONGO, the DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO, UGANDA, Northern KENYA and Southern ETHIOPIA and will come to an end in Northern SOMALIA.

This TOTAL SOLAR ECLIPSE will be partly visible in all CARIBBEAN countries, the far North of SOUTH AMERICA, all countries in WEST AFRICA, CENTRAL AFRICA, EAST AFRICA and SOUTHERN AFRICA, in the MIDDLE EAST and Southern EUROPE.

Total Solar Eclipses, because of their rarity and the spectacle they offer, are all the more fascinating to observe.

But it is therefore all the more important to protect one's EYES, during all the various phases of a Total Solar Eclipse.  (See chapter PROTECT YOUR EYES)
